These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern your use of our courier services.
By using our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Definitions
"Company," "we," "us," or "our" refers to Compass Courier Ja.
"Customer," "you," or "your" refers to any individual or business using our services.
"Package" or "Shipment" refers to any item(s) sent using our courier services.
"Service" refers to all delivery, pickup, and related logistics provided by Compass Courier Ja.
2. Services Offered
Compass Courier Ja provides:
International Shipping Services (Standard and Express Service)
Local deliveries within Spanish Town, Portmore, and Kingston.
Package pickup from designated locations.
Competitive rates and customer support.
3. Payment & Account Creation
Customers must provide accurate details when scheduling a delivery and must use the prescribed method for scheduling.
Payment must be made in full before or at the time of service. At this time we only accept: cash and bank transfers.
Rates are subject to change, and any adjustments will be communicated in advance via email and post on our respective platforms.
Refunds are only provided in cases where Compass Courier Ja is at fault for non-delivery.
Packages must be shipped in the name of the Account holder registered, using the provided shipping address in the customer portal.
4. Shipping Timeframes
While we strive to deliver packages within the estimated timeframes, delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. Compass Courier Ja is not liable for any consequential losses arising from delays.
5. Delivery Terms
Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed unless explicitly agreed.
Customers must ensure someone is available to receive the package. If the recipient is unavailable, a second delivery attempt may incur an additional charge.
We reserve the right to refuse delivery of illegal, hazardous, or prohibited items.
6. Liability
Compass Courier Ja shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or delay in the delivery of packages due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
Acts of God (e.g., hurricanes, floods, earthquakes)
Acts of war or terrorism
Government restrictions or customs inspections
Strikes, labor disputes, or service interruptions by third parties
Inaccurate or incomplete shipping information provided by the customer
Package contents that violate local laws and regulations.
Excluded Items and Prohibited Goods. We do not accept liability for shipments containing:
Perishable goods (unless otherwise arranged and agreed upon in writing)
Fragile items that are inadequately packaged
Cash, jewelry, or other high-value items
Illegal substances or prohibited materials as per Jamaican law
Packaging and Condition of Items
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their packages are securely packed to prevent damage during transit. Compass Courier Ja is not liable for damage due to improper packaging.
7. Inspection Rights
Compass Courier Ja reserves the right to inspect any package to verify compliance with our shipping policies and local regulations. We may refuse service for any package that does not meet our guidelines.
8. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must adhere to all applicable shipping laws and regulations. Failure to do so may result in delays, additional charges or the forfeiture of doing business with us in future.
Ensure packages are securely packaged.
Provide accurate pickup and delivery details.
Be available for communication regarding deliveries.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
Once an item is in transit, cancellations are not allowed.
If we fail to deliver due to our fault, we may issue a refund or reattempt delivery at no extra cost. (conditions apply)
10. Prohibited Items
We do not transport:
Illegal substances, weapons, or hazardous materials.
Perishable goods without prior arrangement.
Cash, jewelry, or fragile items without proper packaging.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
We respect your privacy and use your personal information only for delivery purposes. We do not share or sell customer data to third parties.
10. Amendments
Compass Courier Ja reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website or social media pages. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
